The rapper was forced to fork out a total penalty of more than $10,000 for carrying a small amount of pot and big amount of money.
Snoop Dogg was busted by drug-sniffing dogs of possessing a small amount of weeds. Custom officials at the Kjevic Airport in Kristiansand, Norway briefly detained the rapper and released him when they found out that the amount of ganja did not exceed the limit of personal use.
According to Norway's marijuana laws, 15 grams and below is considered personal use. Dogg was fined 12,000 Norwegian Kroner aka roughly $1,980.13 for having 8 grams. This led to another problem that forced him to pay more fine.
Dogg was carrying a large amount of cash that exceeds the legal limits. In addition to the earlier penalty, he was told to pay 52,000 Kroner, or $8,600. He was reportedly co-operative, paid the fines and moved on.
Dogg was in the country to perform at the Hove Festival. He was not exactly in the good mood after the airport incident, snapping "Man, shut the f**k up. I'm here ...be happy I'm here and ask some real questions" when a local news outlet asked him why he was five hours late to the festival.
So the reporter asked about the custom stop at the airport. Dogg retorted, "I was late 'cause I went to go get some chicken wings ...'cause I wanted to see Norway up close and personal, and visit an old folks' home. I went to visit a convalescent home. That's why I was late."
