AceShowbiz - Lionsgate Films has unleashed the first two stills of "Empire State" which give a first look at Liam Hemsworth and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Being released via Deadline, the two official images offer close-up shots of the two actors.

Sporting a lighter hair, a flustered-looking Hemsworth is pictured donning a patterned white shirt. Johnsown, meanwhile, is featured rocking what looks like a police medal. He stands in a room which wall is pinned with maps and papers.

"Empire State" is based on true events that happened back in 1982. The story follows two childhood friends from Astoria, New York, who plan to rob an armored car depository. Hemsworth stars as one of the two buddies, while Johnson plays an NYPD detective who is tasked to bust the felon pair.

Also supporting the movie is Emma Roberts, who plays the waitress girlfriend of Hemsworth's character. Serving as the helmer is "The Son of No One" director Dito Montiel with Adam Mazer penning the screenplay. Lionsgate hasn't fixed a U.S. release date for the movie.
