Big K.R.I.T. successfully broke into top 5 on Billboard Hot 200 at first try. The Def Jam rapper bowed at the fifth spot with his major-label debut album "Live from the Underground". The cover art of the album, which boasts an image of a car crashing the ground, fits his accomplishment.
"It's a representation of how I feel about underground vs mainstream music," so he explained. "This illustrates how I've crash landed into the mainstream to bring the sounds from the underground back 2 the forefront. I want to thank everyone for all their support of my journey so far."
On Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, it claimed the number one position. "People expect that type of quality from me now," he told XXLmag. "I don't want to let anybody down. I want people to see there will always be some kind of consistency. That is extremely important to me. I got to keep the consistency."
In the CD, the 25-year-old rapper whose real name is Justin Scott teams up with 2 Chainz, Ludacris, Anthony Hamilton, Bun B, Melanie Fiona and B.B. King among others.
