"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" might be close to find its Johanna Mason. It was The Playlist which broke the news that Mia Wasikowska is poised to take the role of the female District 7 tribute in the sequel to "The Hunger Games".

In addition to Wasikowska, it was reported that model/actress Zoe Aggeliki is in the mix for Johanna Mason. Both actresses are said to have been in discussion for the important role. Should one of them seal the deal with Lionsgate Films, she will not only appear in "Catching Fire" but also in its follow-up, "Mockingjay".

In the Suzanne Collins book, Johanna is described as a sarcastic and mean-spirited girl who has no friends or family in District 7. During the 75th Hunger Games, the axe-wielding tribute pretends to be a weakling so no one sees her as a threat but later she reveals herself as a vicious killer. She also becomes a strong ally of Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark and Finnick Odair during the Quarter Quell.

"Catching Fire", which is expected to kick off filming this fall, is still looking for actors to tackle new pivotal characters that were not included in the first movie. Some names have been thrown as possible candidates to play heartthrob Finnick in the film. On the other hand, it has been reported that Philip Seymour Hoffman is eyed to star as Plutarch Heavensbee.

To be directed by Francis Lawrence, "Catching Fire" is slated for a November 22, 2013 release in the United States. It will bring back Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth as Katniss, Peeta and Gale respectively. In the sequel, Katniss and Peeta will be forced to compete in a special 75th staging of the Hunger Games, where they must fight against past winners.
