Newly-engaged Miley Cyrus flaunted her engagement ring. The 19-year-old actress showed off her new sparkler when making her way into LAX airport in Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon, June 7. She wore a sleeveless white top and a jacket which she paired with tight high-waisted denims and boots.
Miley was reportedly on her way to visit her fiance Liam Hemsworth, who is currently in New Orleans shooting his upcoming film "Empire State" with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Emma Roberts. She herself has just finished a photo shoot for a magazine in Malibu, where she's also spotted sporting the ring.
On her Twitter, the "Can't Be Tamed" hitmaker gave her followers update on what she's doing at the moment. She tweeted, "Reading 50 shades of grey next to the oldest dude ever. #awkward." One day earlier, she wrote, "Thank you for all the love today :) I'm happy to share this news with you all. I feel like all my dreams are coming true."
Miley met Liam when they were working as co-stars in 2009's "The Last Song". They have been dating on and off ever since. She was proposed by the Aussie hunk on Wednesday, May 31 with a vintage Neil Lane diamond ring. It reportedly cost him $250,000.
The sparkler is a 3.5-carat cushion-cut diamond ring, handcrafted in 18-karat gold with intricately carved diamond floral motifs in an art nouveau pattern. The center stone dates back to the late 19th century. "The light flashes and sparkles no matter where Miley moves her hand," Lane told PEOPLE.
How did their families react to the engagement news? Miley's mother Tish was "excited," and her father "Billy Ray loves Liam. He's happy his daughter has found the right guy," another insider said. The Hemsworths were also happy for them. "They spend Christmas and other holidays together. They've been down to Australia," a different source testified.
