The 11th Annual CMT Music Awards is coming closer to send its audience home. Before the winner of the top honor, Video of the Year, was announced, Luke Bryan and Miranda Lambert were invited to take the stage at the Bridgestone Arena in Tennessee, Nashville to collect their awards.
Luke won Male Video of the Year, thanks to "I Don't Want This Night to End" clip. He beat Eric Church, Toby Keith, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and Jason Aldean. He received the CMT belt buckle from presenters Tom Arnold and Steve Austin.
"I want to thank CMT for playing the video," he gushed. "I want to thank my wife. When I came home to show my wife this video, I removed all the bullets from our house. I want to thank her for not buying more bullets to shoot me with. Thank you for letting me do this video."
Luke said it was his second CMT win, recalling that the last time he won, he threw an expensive jacket to the crowd. So, he would throw something cheaper this time. "I have a lucky charm: lucky camouflage underwear. Tom, would you like to do the honors?" he said. The presented pulled it out of Luke's pants and pitched it into the crowd
Although her husband lost all of his nominations, Miranda managed to take home one gong. The Pistol Annies star got Female Video of the Year, thanks to "Over You" clip. She pushed aside such strong contenders as Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Kellie Pickler, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.
" 'Over You' means so much to me and to my husband and to our family," she said. "Thank you, Richie, up there in heaven." Richie is Blake's brother who died in a car accident and became her inspiration for the song. She received the award from Luke. She additionally thanked her bandmates for their support and yelled at her hubby, "Blakie, we won a buckle!"
