Sequels to 'X-Men: First Class' and 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' Get Release Dates

AceShowbiz - 20th Century Fox has announced release dates for some of its upcoming big movies. The studio has set the untitled X-Men: First Class sequel for a July 18, 2014 release, and planned to debut "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" ("Rise of the Planet of the Apes" sequel) on May 23, 2014 in the United States.

Also being lined up in 2014 is "Robopocalypse". Initially set to be unleashed across the nation on July 3, 2013, the Steven Spielberg-directed drama sci-fi movie now occupies an April 25, 2014 slot. Meanwhile, Fox has rescheduled "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" for an August 16, 2013 release after initially planning to debut it on March 27 next year.

Some other big movies that have their release dates rescheduled are "Thor 2" and "The Lone Ranger". Walt Disney Pictures moves up the second God of Thunder film from November 15 to November 8 of 2013, and pushes back the Johnny Depp-starring adventure movie from May 31, 2013 to July 3 of the same year.

With the new release dates, the "Thor" sequel will face off the One Direction Concert Movie 3D, while the Gore Verbinski-directed flick will bow on the same day "Despicable Me 2" opens in theaters nationwide.
