AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato has apparently become Simon Cowell's chief antagonist as soon as she started her judging stint on "The X Factor (US)". During the first day of auditions in Austin, Texas, the "Give Your Heart a Break" singer was reportedly not afraid of taking a jab at the show's creator.
"Demi has really been brave with Simon, constantly reminding him how young she is and how old he is," said a source at the auditions. "Within a few minutes of judging starting, Demi called Simon 'grandpa' because he's seemingly decided to play the role of Cupid for her."
The source went on dishing that the former "Sonny with a Chance" actress told the audience that Simon is "just old and impatient." When the British producer joked about a contestant butchering her song, the 19-year-old songstress hit back, "At least I have a song Simon!"
Responding to Demi's statement, Simon said, "Demi, I think you need to sit in the naughty chair for a few minutes today." Though so, the source explained to Celebuzz that it was nothing serious and that they just had "playful banter."
Demi, who wore a yellow Topshop dress and cropped black jacket, had different opinions with Britney Spears about one young male contestant during the auditions. While the "Skyscrapper" singer thought the boy needed to find out what made him special, the "Me Against the World" hitmaker said he could be "bigger than the next Justin Bieber."
Simon, Demi and Britney were joined by L.A. Reid during the filming on Thursday, May 24. Footage from the Texas auditions has landed online, capturing the judges arrivals on the set and their entrance on the stage.
