Nominees for this year's BET Awards have been revealed. In sport category, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant are vying against each for Sportswoman of the Year. The two basketball players are joined in the battle by two other NBA stars Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant, as well as footballer Victor Cruz.

This marks for the umpteenth time LeBron and Kobe are nominated in the category. The 27-year-old Miami Heat star won the coveted title for at least five times including in the consecutive years of 2009 and 2010. The 33-year-old Los Angeles Lakers player, meanwhile, had taken home the honor twice.

In the female department, Serena Williams is pitted against her sister Venus Williams as well as Skylar Diggins, Candace Parker and Brittney Griner. While Serena has repeatedly won the prize in the past years, Venus hasn't managed to grab one since being nominated in 2010.

Also honoring the best in music and movie, BET Awards will announce its winners in all categories during a live telecast which will air live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on July 1. Samuel L. Jackson serves as a host, Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj will perform along with Cadillac Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Maze featuring Frankie Beverly.
