Lil Wayne and Chris Brown followed the footsteps of such early winners as Justin Bieber, Wiz Khalifa and LMFAO at Billboard Music Awards by collecting one coveted prize each. The rapper and the R&B singer got their first awards of the evening roughly an hour after the show was kicked off.
Weezy was a recipient for Top Male Artist. The "6 Foot 7 Foot" rhymer pushed aside such competitors as Bieber, Chris Brown, Drake and Bruno Mars. Due to his absence, the award was accepted by presenter Gladys Knight on his behalf.
Breezy, meanwhile, got Top R&B Artist title. Beating Beyonce Knowles, Cee-Lo Green, Miguel and Rihanna, he was presented the gong by Monica and Eric Benet. "I just wanna thank all the fans - Team Breezy, y'all supported me from day one," he gushed.
