The 'Living Proof' singer hits a party with her girl pals, but can't hide her sadness as she sings about her complicated romance.
Mary J. Blige has debuted a music video in support of her single "Why". She sings her hearts out about a troubled relationship while she is alone in her bedroom, sitting on the backside of a car and partying with her girl friends. She finally takes a stage to duet with Rick Ross, who is featured in the song.
"Why" is the latest single from her tenth studio album "My Life II... The Journey Continues (Act 1)". Titled as the sequel to her 1994 album "My Life", the set has hit the stores in the United States since November 2011.
J. Blige performed "Why" for the first time on the Top 13 results show of "American Idol" season 11. In the same week, she served as a guest mentor for the contestants.
She filmed the music video in March under the direction of Colin Tilley.
