"Smash" will take on Bollywood in its upcoming episode. A glimpse of an Indian-themed musical number is shared in a newly released preview for the next outing with Katharine McPhee's Karen on the lead.
In another scene, Karen is seduced by the glamorous life of new BFF Rebecca Duvall (guest star Uma Thurman), who likely hides an ulterior motive. The movie star prompts an argument between her and Karen's boyfriend Dev during a dinner, and admits in front of Derek that she wants to get rid off Karen.
Meanwhile, Derek is driven mad by Rebecca's behavior, and Eileen introduces new beau Nick (guest star Thorsten Kaye) to ex-husband Jerry (guest star Michael Cristofer). Julia panics when her son Leo goes missing, while the "Marilyn" crew is sent into panic when someone has a breathing problem.
"Publicity" will air Monday, April 23 at 10/9c on NBC.
