While negotiations have begun for the 'We Found Love' hitmaker to sit on the judging panel, talks with Britney Spears to join the show are 'pretty much dead.'
"The X Factor (US)" is still on the hunt for the new judges, and Rihanna has become the latest star mentioned as a possible candidate. A so-called insider told HollywoodLife.com that the Barbadian singer is in negotiations to fill one of the vacant spots on the judging panel.
Still according to the site, Britney Spears won't likely join the sophomore season of the Simon Cowell-created talent show following reports that she wanted more than the offered $10 million paycheck for the gig. The source added the discussions with the "Womanizer" songstress are "pretty much dead."
Other celebrities who have reportedly turned down the gig included Janet Jackson and Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie. LeAnn Rimes, meanwhile, has expressed her interest to join Simon and L.A. Reid as a judge on the singing competition, with her husband Eddie Cibrian recently confirming the talks are still ongoing.
