The music executive who signed Franklin back in the '80s will reunite with the diva on a new project.

AceShowbiz - Aretha Franklin celebrated her 70th birthday by announcing that she is working on a new album. Not only that, she revealed that her musical mentor Clive Davis would be on hand to give her album a boost.

"I have re-signed with Clive Davis, so I'm recording with Clive again," said Franklin. The work will kick off as soon as Davis has his birthday next month. She added, "We're going to sit together and decide what it is we're going to record."

Clive Davis signed Franklin to his Arista Records imprint in 1980s after her fallout with Atlantic. Throughout her birthday bash, Davis sat next to Franklin while other guests enjoy a night of singing and dancing performances. Franklin reportedly did her own seating charts, putting Davis at the head of the table with her.
