A couple of days after welcoming his first child, the 'Supernatural' actor reveals through his representative what moniker he and his wife, Genevieve Cortese, have chosen for their baby.
More details about Jared Padalecki's baby boy have been disclosed. Two days after the Sam Winchester of "Supernatural" announced the arrival of his first child with actress wife Genevieve Cortese, his representative unraveled what moniker the couple have given to their bundle of joy.
The rep informed the press that Padalecki and his 31-year-old wife have named their boy, Thomas Colton Padalecki. The 29-year-old actor himself talked about the naming process back in January. He explained to Us Weekly, "We don't want to put it out there, like try and turn him into something before we meet the kid. We want to get a feel for who this kid is before we name him."
Padalecki broke news of his son's birth on late Monday, March 19 night. At the time, the Clay Miller of "Friday the 13th" simply tweeted, "It's a boy :)." Receiving a congratulatory message from friend D.J. Qualls shortly afterward, he responded by writing back, "ditto :)." His representative later told PEOPLE that his baby boy weighed in at 8 lbs., 6 oz.
When Padalecki and Cortese first announced they were expecting their first child together, they asked fans to donate money to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in exchange of sending them gifts. "Lets make the world a brighter place for those not as fortunate," the actor tweeted in October 2011. Fans have since raised over $40,000, and the couple have promised to match the final total.
