KISS and Motley Crue Reunite for a Tour Because They're Sick of Karaoke Shows

Being 'sick and tired of girls getting up there with dancers and karaoke tapes in back of them,' Gene Simmons says, 'Leave that to the Rihanna, Smhianna and anyone who ends their name with an 'A'.'

AceShowbiz - Thirty years after sharing stage at Creatures of the Night Tour, KISS and Motley Crue are going to hit the road together again this coming summer, and they promise to bring a "biggest, baddest rock tour". Avoiding to give away too much detail and spoiling the element of surprise, KISS' Tommy Thayer tells their fans to "expect the unexpected."

Announced in a press conference at the Roosevelt Hotel, the upcoming roadshow will kick off July 20 in Bristow, VA. KISS' Paul Stanley says, "This will be The Tour, that's what we're calling it, The Tour. You will be deaf and blinded, you will leave there stumbling out." He additionally gushes, "Our shows will be a no-fly zone."

Explaining the reason behind the reunion, KISS' Gene Simmons shares his thoughts to the press, "We're sick and tired of girls getting up there with dancers and karaoke tapes in back of them." He continues, "No fake bulls**t. Leave that to the Rihanna, Smhianna and anyone who ends their name with an 'A'."

Crue's Tommy Lee agrees with Simmons but has some clarification in response to his strong opinion. "No disrespect to Rihanna, she's a great singer, but we're in a slump for some s**t that has some personality and appeal beyond a bunch of pop stuff that's floating around out there," he explains to Billboard after the conference.

He elaborates his statement on why he's on the same page with Simmon, "I'm glad he said that actually because I don't think i can bear watching another f***ing award show that is just a little bit better than 'American Idol.' It's f***ing pathetic to watch people go out and f***ing karaoke with a bunch of lights and video. It's all completely watered down."
