Adam Levine will soon expand his career on the small screen by taking a role in a scripted series. The coach/judge on "The Voice" is reported to be in final negotiations to join the second season of "American Horror Story".

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Maroon 5 singer will play a contemporary character and half of a couple called "The Lovers". Words are, the producers of the FX hit series are willing to shoot the show's sophomore season around the rocker's touring schedule this summer.

The "AHS" role will mark Levine's acting debut. It's still unknown who will play the other half of "The Lovers".

Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe are the original cast members who will return to the show's sophomore season. They all will portray new characters.

Additionally, the show is looking for an actress to portray "a fierce, ferocious, extremely sexual and dangerous wild-child sexpot who harbors a secret," like Angelina Jolie' character in "Girl, Interrupted".
