Katniss Everdeen's first face to face encounter with her designer best friend Cinna is highlighted in a brand new clip for "The Hunger Games". The short snippet focuses on a scene where the stylist introduces himself to the District 12 female Tribute after she arrives in the Capitol. "I'm sorry that this happened to you," he said, "and I'm here to help you in any way that I can."
In Suzanne Collins' book, Katniss is left mesmerized by the flashy yet high-fashion citizens of the Capitol whilst she herself looks modest. After meeting Cinna, the designer promises to transform her look to impress the world. Talking about his character on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", Lenny Kravitz said, "His job is to help her forge an impression, so she has a better chance of surviving."
Directed by Gary Ross, "The Hunger Games" revolves around Katniss as she replaces her sister in annual deadly games sponsored by the Panem government. Along with her District 12 partner Peeta Mellark and the help from former victor Haymitch Abernathy, the heroine is forced to rely upon her sharp instinct to survive in the games and come back home to the mining district.
Due to open wide in the U.S. on March 23, the highly anticipated movie also stars Josh Hutcherson as baker's son Peeta, Liam Hemsworth as Katniss' trusted friend Gale Hawthorne, Woody Harrelson as drunkard mentor Haymitch, Elizabeth Banks as guide Effie Trinket, and Ben Wesley as gamemaker Seneca Crane.
