The film's lead actors, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, were mobbed by screaming fans as they attended a meet and greet show at Westfield Century City on Saturday, March 3.
Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth were all on hand to promote their highly anticipated film, "The Hunger Games", during a first stop of the movie's national mall tour. The trio kicked off the event by attending a meet and greet show at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 3.
More than 1000 "Hunger Games" fans showed up at the mall over the weekend to get a chance to meet the stars who play Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne in person. Most of them had been camping out around the location since Friday to be the first in line when the show opened.
As they arrived to the event, Lawrence, Hutcherson and Hemsworth were seen posing for photographers and greeting the swarming fans. The three were all smiles as they took pictures and signed posters for those fans before beginning a small Q&A session to answer some questions about the much awaited movie.
After kicking off the 8-city U.S. tour in L.A., each of the trio will part their ways to attend similar events in some other cities. Hemsworth will next stop by Atlanta on Tuesday, while Hutcherson will attend the Chicago show on Wednesday. On the other hand, Lawrence will be in Miami on Thursday. The tour ends on March 10 in Seattle, where the three reunite for a last trip to Brookstone before the movie opens wide on March 23.
An adaptation of Suzanne Collins' bestselling novel, "The Hunger Games" follows Katniss who replaces her sister Primrose in annual deadly games sponsored by the Panem government. With the help from mentor Haymitch Abernathy, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts to survive in the games. Directed by Gary Ross, the movie is also supported by Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci and Wes Bentley.
