The tickets for conventional and IMAX theaters for 'Hunger Games' are available for online purchase with ticket buyers having a bonus to freely download a song from the film's companion album.
Though "The Hunger Games" would not open in cinemas until March 23, fans of the novel-adapted movie could secure tickets for the opening night seats a month earlier. The tickets for conventional and IMAX theaters are available for purchase on the film's official website starting from Wednesday morning, February 22.
The advance tickets are also available on Fandango. Only in a few hours after being released on Wednesday, the ticket sales were dominating 83% of the site's total sales. On the same day, Lionsgate Films announced that it will invite 400 fans to the Los Angeles premiere of the film at Nokia Theater on March 12. The fans are allowed to camp at "The Hob" beginning on March 11 at 6 A.M.
Fans who buy the conventional and IMAX theaters tickets will have a special treat by receiving an iTunes code to freely download a selected song called "Tomorrow Will Be Kinder" by The Secret Sisters from the movie's companion album; "The Hunger Games: Songs From District 12 and Beyond", which will hit record stores on March 20.
A day prior, Lionsgate announced the national mall tour events to promote the highly anticipated movie. The tour, which runs from March 3 - 10, will involve stops in several cities like Los Angeles, Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Seattle and more. Each stop will have a Q&A session where fans could ask questions to the cast members. Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth will be on hand to greet the fans during the promotional events.
Directed by Gary Ross, "The Hunger Games" is based on Suzanne Collins' bestselling novel of the same title. The movie is also supported by Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci and Wes Bentley.
