The ex-frontman of Audioslave sings the soundtrack of 'The Bodyguard' at a fundraiser for President Obama, humbly saying, 'I just learned this, so when I mess it up, forgive me.'

Adding piles to the artists who pay tribute to Whitney Houston by singing, Chris Cornell performed a rendition of her iconic song "I Will Always Love You". The Soundgarden lead singer strummed his guitar and delivered the classic song in an acoustic set.

"I just learned this, so when I mess it up, forgive me," Cornell said, prompting concertgoers to erupt into laughter. The former Audioslave star paid tribute to the late singer in front of the crowd at a recent fund-raising event for President Barack Obama in San Francisco.

There have been a lot of tribute songs dedicated to Whitney in the past few days following her sudden death on February 11. Aretha Franklin, LeAnn Rimes, Nicole Scherzinger and Amber Riley have also sung the Dolly Parton-written song, while Monica crooned "You Give Good Love" and Ashanti did "I Have Nothing".

Robin Thicke meanwhile re-recorded a stripped-down rendition of Whitney's 1995 single "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" and released it for a free download in memory of the New Jersey singer. "This is my tribute to the great Whitney Houston. Sending my prayers to her family," the husband of actress Paula Patton wrote on Twitter.
