His ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, who becomes the target of the backlash has also posted a number of cryptic messages which seem to address the controversy surrounding their possible collaboration.

Chris Brown might have responded to the backlash Rihanna received following rumors that he's going to be featured in a remix of her single "Birthday Cake". He recently took to Twitter to post a cryptic message that read, "Let them be mad!!!! We make music. Don't like it, don't listen!"

Breezy also seemed to taunt those who are not happy with the collaboration news by hinting that Riri's going to return the favor by lending her vocals in a remix of his single "Turn Up the Music". The R&B singer posted, "Turn up the music remix is coming soon too! Guess who's on it?"

Like her ex-boyfriend, Riri herself also has posted some cryptic tweets amidst the protests. "Its all about mastering the skill of ignoring ignorance! #1LOVE," she wrote before quoting Bob Marley, "Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don't bury your thoughts, put ur vision to reality. Wake up and live."

She continued in a series of postings, "They can say whatever, Ima do whatever... No pain is forever <-----YUP! YOU KNOW THIS. Go head talk s**t...its all in da paper!!! Lemme grab my d**k while ya sit on top!!! Music heals the world...we need more!!!!"

The collaboration news has sparked pros and cons among music fans and critics. Some support the possible duet, but the others are against it. One of those who found it repulsive is Billboard, which has written an open letter each to the "Look at Me Now" hitmaker and the "We Found Love" singer.

To Breezy, Billboard voiced its concern over his "habitual stunts of anger." The publication noted, "One minute you're crying at the closing of a Michael Jackson tribute at the 2010 BET Music Awards and the next you're throwing chairs out the 'Good Morning America' window." It added, "You don't let us forgive and not turn back."

To Riri, Billboard chastised the singer by claiming, "There has never been a point where you've publicly proclaimed, 'Go f**k yourself, Chris Brown' " after the infamous 2009 altercation. It chimed in, "You have the opportunity to deliver a message that transcends any lyric you could ever sing, to stand for something that lasts much longer than any three-minute piece of radio fodder."

Riri, however, seemed to shrug it off. Without specifically mentioning the letter, she tweeted, "Chiefin' while ppl spend hrs on letters... *kanye shrug* #phuckit. Who Jah bless I say NO MAN CURSE! Ting's gettin better when they thought it would be worse. I'm so solid as a rock, they just can't stop me now!"
