Whitney Houston to Return to Top 10 on Hot 200 With 'Greatest Hits' Album

The 'Million Dollar Bill' singer additionally makes her debut on Digital Songs chart by landing at No. 3 with her ballad epic 'I Will Always Love You'.

AceShowbiz - In the wake of her shocking death on Saturday, February 11, Whitney Houston is predicted to re-enter top 10 list on Billboard Hot 200 with her 2000 "Greatest Hits" compilation. The CD is estimated to sell 64,000 copies by the week's end on February 12 (up 10,419|percent| from previous week's sales which shifted just under 1,000).

According to Nielsen SoundScan, there were more Whitney albums purchased in past few days after her passing than during the years of 2011 and 2012 leading to her demise. Her records sold around 101,000 copies in total, which is 5,994|percent| increase from the 2,000 sales number collected the week prior.

In details, her debut "Whitney Houston" sold 8,000 units (up 3,901|percent|), and record-breaking soundtrack LP of "The Bodyguard" pulled in 8,000 (up 5,213|percent|). Her last album "I Look to You" garnered 5,000 copies (up 3,901|percent|), 2nd eponymous effort "Whitney" sold 5,000 (up 2,274|percent|), and "The Preacher's Wife" soundtrack sold 4,000 (up 3,913|percent|).

Whitney's songs also get huge sales boost digitally. Among all the tracks, her iconic song "I Will Always Love You" pulls the biggest sales with 195,000 downloads (up 6,724|percent|). Through the "Bodyguard" theme song, the New Jersey late singer debuts on the seven-year old Digital Songs Chart at the third position.

Several steps lower, her single "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" sits at No. 25 (74,000; up 8,769|percent|). Her other charting songs on the top 100 list of the digital chart include "Greatest Love of All", "How Will I Know", "I Have Nothing", "Saving All My Love For You", "One Moment In Time" and her rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner".
