"Dark Shadows" has revealed an official image that features Johnny Depp and Eva Green as Barnabas Collins and his witch lover Angelique Bouchard respectively. The two are seen gazing closely at each other.
In the movie, Collins is described as a rich, powerful and inveterate playboy who is also the master of Collinwood Manor. He, however, makes a grave mistake of breaking the heart of Bouchard, a witch who brings him to a fate worse than death; turning him into a vampire and then burying him alive.
Two centuries after his death, Collins is inadvertently freed from his tomb. He emerges into a very different world of 1972 and returns to Collinwood Manor only to find his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. He must now have some run-ins with various monsters, witches, werewolves and ghosts.
The new still aside, Barnabas Collins is featured in an expo promo poster for La Cinematheque Francaise. The one-sheet is used to advertise "Dark Shadows" in France and to promote director Tim Burton's exhibition tour in the country.
Warner Bros. Pictures has scheduled to unleash "Dark Shadows" in the U.S. theaters on May 11. The supernatural thriller will mark Burton's eighth collaboration with his longtime pal Depp. Joining Depp and Green in the cast ensemble are Helena Bonham Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jackie Earle Haley, Chloe Moretz and Jonny Lee Miller.
