Finalists for 2012 ACM Awards' Best New Artist have been announced. Scotty McCreery is one of those vying for the coveted title. The winner of "American Idol" season 10 is facing off two other country music newbies, Brantley Gilbert and Hunter Hayes.
Soon after learning about the nod, McCreery reached out to his fans on Twitter to express his gratitude. "Big thanks to everybody who voted and helped me become a top 3 finalist for the ACM New Artist of the Year award! Yall are the best!" so he wrote.
Fans can determine the winner on ACM official website beginning March 19 until April 1 before the awards show kicks off. The one who gets the most votes will be handed the trophy during a star-studded ceremony at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Overall, the nomination list for the 47th annual ACM Awards is led by Kenny Chesney. He dominates the pack with nine nods and is followed by Jason Aldean with six and Lady Antebellum with five.
