Four years after dropping "Red Letter Year", Ani DiFranco came back captivating music lovers with a compilation of good music in brand new CD "Which Side Are You on?". She debuted high on Billboard Folk Albums chart by entering at No. 1, and broke into top 5 on Independent Albums chart.

In this album, DiFranco was backed up by a team of stellar musicians, including Ivan and Cyril Neville of The Neville Brothers, avant-saxophonist Skerik (Pearl Jam, R.E.M.), and guitarist Adam Levy (Norah Jones, Amos Lee). She additionally got support from folk music veteran Pete Seeger.

For the title track, the 41-year-old folk rock singer reworked Florence Reece's classic of the same title, which was once popularized by Pete. She revamped it into a funk-fueled epic with Pete on banjo and vocals alongside children's choir, The Rivertown Kids. The result is, it provides a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience.

DiFranco is currently on tour. She has tapped Gregory Alan Isakov as a guest in her Winter shows including the sold-out one at Boulder Theatre in Colorado, and recruited Sean Hayes and Seth Glier for her Spring concerts. Love Ani going back to "Not A Pretty Girl" but the new album sucks. I'm a collector so I have everything and would have bought it anyway but it's just going to stay on my CD shelves as part of the collection. I don't see myself ever again listening to that album. Please ask Ani to write some real songs with melodies. I miss the days of "Shameless." This new stuff isn't making it for me.
