'Bachelor' Recap: Emily and Courtney Bad-Mouthing Each Other, Ben Unaffected

Also in the January 23 episode of the dating reality series, Ben feels that things don't go further with Samantha and sends her home before the Rose Ceremony.

Ben Flajnik remained cool despite the girls' clash in the latest episode of "The Bachelor". As host Chris Harrison had teased before, Emily and Courtney's rivalry escalated to a level where the former trash talked the latter in front of the bachelor. Refusing to pick a side, Ben kept the two girls though he warned Emily that the hate could end up in her own demise.

Earlier in the Monday, January 23 outing, Rachel landed a one-on-one date with Ben, making Kacie B. and Nicki jealous. The twosome took off with a helicopter and went canoeing. Rachel gushed that the date was really romantic, but Ben felt that the conversation with Rachel was kind of lagging.

Despite his comment about Rachel, Ben gave her a rose after a dinner. "I like kissing Rachel. I like being around her. I think it's going to be a slow burn," he admitted.

Jamie, Kacie B., Blakeley, Lindzi, Samantha, Nicki, Casey S. and Courtney were picked for a group date where they took a horseback ride before going fly-fishing. Although she initially complained about spending time with the "fool" girls, Courtney felt that she has caught Ben's heart after catching a fish.

At the cocktail party, Ben was having a private conversation with Nicki when Samantha interrupted. She complained about not getting a chance to have a one-on-one date. Ben told her that she is highly emotional. "I don't see this going much further. I wonder if you take this seriously enough. Based on the track record, I'm thinking we should end this right now," he said before sending her packing.

Kacie B. also had a private time with Ben after which the winemaker confessed to the camera, "I like this girl - her smile, her demeanor... everything. I don't know. I might end up with her." However, it was Courtney who got the rose from the group date.

Jennifer got the second one-on-one date which included going down into a secluded crater. They talked about relationship while having a dinner by a fire. Ben gave Jennifer a rose and their date ended with watching a Clay Walker concert.

It was at the pre-Rose Ceremony cocktail party when Emily said bad things about Courtney. "It's going to end up in your own demise, if you let this person consume everything you're doing and not focusing on us," he responded, leading to Emily feel worry that she made a wrong move.

At the rose ceremony, Ben gave the roses to Lindzi, Jamie, Nicki, Kacie B., Elyse, Blakely and Casey S. He waited until the end to give the last rose to Emily, and chose to send home Monica.
