Red carpet have been rolled out outside of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California for the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards, luring many Hollywood A-listers to step out and show off their best fashion choice. Among those stealing the attention on Sunday, January 15 were young star Rooney Mara and TV beauty Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Making her first appearance at the Golden Globes, 26-year-old Mara kept it simple with a black Nina Ricci gown that shows a lot of skin. The leading lady of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", who is up for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama), completed her look by pulling her short black hair into a ponytail and wearing little jewelry.
"Ringer" star Gellar, in the meantime, came in an unconventional dress. The 34-year-old actress wore blue-and-white tie-dye faille strapless tufted ball gown by Monique Lhuillier. Of the number, she said it was her daughter's choice, explaining, "My 2-year-old walked in ... said, 'Mama, wear this!' I let her pick all of it."
Bringing elegance to the red carpet was "Homeland" star Claire Danes. The nominee for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series (Drama) looked stunning in a black and white gown by J. Mendel that exposes her back. She completed the look with bright red lipstick and Bulgari jewels.
Angelina Jolie, on the other hand, oozed perfect couple aura with longtime partner Brad Pitt on the red carpet. The 36-year-old actress, who is expected to present at the awards ceremony opted to go with a white and red Atelier Versace gown. Her 48-year-old boyfriend, meanwhile, looked sleek in a Tom Ford tux.
Also showing off a glam-up look on the red carpet were Charlize Theron and Sofia Vergara. Theron chose to wear a peach Dior couture creation with a short from hemline at the front and a long train, while Vergara went with a custom Vera Wang peacock strapless mermaid gown that she paired with Harry Winston jewels.
Another celebrity who managed to turn heads was George Clooney's girlfriend, Stacy Keibler. The 32-year-old rocked a red v-neck sleeveless gown when accompanying her actor boyfriend, who is up for Best Screenplay for "The Ides of March" and Best Actor for his role in "The Descendants" among other nominations.
"The Help" actress Jessica Chastain was white hot on the red carpet with her Givenchy dress and Harry Winston jewels and "Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol" beauty Paula Patton brought color with her yellow dress. Piper Perabo, in the meantime, made a dramatic entrance with her nude colored dress.
