AceShowbiz - Despite earlier claim that they celebrated Christmas together in Hawaii, Katy Perry and Russell Brand were reported to have spent time apart. On the possible reason why, Us Weekly claimed that the celebrity couple, who got married in October 2010, had "a massive fight" just before the holiday.
Of the fight, one insider said, "[Katy] was like, 'F**k you. I'm going to do my own thing.' Russell replied, 'Fine, f**k you too.' " It was further noted that because of the row, the "Firework" singer scrapped plans to take her family to visit her husband's London hometown for the holidays, and went to Hawaii with friends.
Katy and Russell have been fighting off divorce rumors since the two tied the knot last year. Most recently, the "E.T." hitmaker tweeted, "First I'm pregnant & then I'm divorced. What am I All My Children ?!" Her comedian husband has also told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres he's "really happily married."
An insider, however, believes that the two are heading to a separation. "They haven't split up just yet, but things are not good. The fighting is getting worse," so said the source. "The split may come soon." Still, the source did note, "They are both so dramatic and volatile, the relationship could become great again."
As for the problems that put the couple at odds with each other, another source suggested that it has something to do with their family. "Katy doesn't think Russell respects her parents' Christian beliefs or her friends," the source explained.
Back on Christmas day, Katy was spotted taking a dip in the ocean and soaking up the sun on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. While PEOPLE claimed that the 27-year-old singer flew to the island with Brand and some friends, her husband was spotted in South West England. He was seen in a Cornwell pub on December 24 and at his friend David Baddiel's charity swim on December 26.
