Maria Shriver is now thinking of keeping her marriage intact because her religion would not approve a separation.
Arnold Schwarzenegger's wife Maria Shriver is having a second thought about divorcing the former Californian government. Shriver, according to TMZ, is telling her friends that she doesn't want a divorce because her religious beliefs do not condone it.
Shriver, a devout Roman Catholic, filed the divorce on July 7, citing "irreconcilable differences", after she found out that the actor has a lovechild with their long-time housekeeper. Although she kept the separation civil, Shriver moved out of their marital house and has bought a $10 million mansion in Brentwood, CA, which is still under renovation.
There was a rumor that their marriage was already on the rocks even before the cheating scandal. However, Shriver did not take action at that time because "part of it is family legacy, part of it is Catholicism. But the most important thing was their four kids," a friend told Los Angeles Times.
Shriver's intention to reconcile with her estranged husband is backed up by his effort to win her back. He reportedly has been "extremely sweet" to her and made nice gestures to Shriver, including giving her presents.
