Having a bunch of new series on its sleeve, HBO decided to pull the plug on some shows which failed to capture audience. The network has announced that it ended the run of sleeper comedies "Hung", "Bored to Death" and "How to Make It in America" to make room for "Luck", "Veep", "Girls", "Life's Too Short" and "Angry Boys".

Both "Hung", which stars Thomas Jane, and "Bored", which is headlined by Jason Schwartzman, have run for three seasons each. As for "How to Make It", it got canceled after running for two seasons.

Lucky for the Golden Globe-nominated show "Enlightened", HBO has given a greenlight for a second season. The Laura Dern-starring drama comedy will return next year along with the likes of "Game of Thrones", "True Blood", "Boardwalk Empire" and "Treme".

Meanwhile, the cabel channel is yet to announce the fate of Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm".
