The first footage from "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" has been debuted in a form of sneak-peek to the first trailer. Making its way out via Entertainment Tonight, the short footage is introduced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson before showing a scene featuring his character Roadblock in a combat.

A sequel to 2009's "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra", "G.I. Joe 2" is directed by Jon M. Chu, with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick providing the screenplay.
