The 'X-Men' helmer is finalizing a deal to serve as a director and an executive producer for the remake project which recently got a pilot order from NBC.

AceShowbiz - Bryan Singer will likely lend his hands to revive "The Munsters". The man behind "X-Men" and "X2" is currently closing in on a deal to direct and executive produce the TV reboot project which recently got a greenlight from NBC.

The 46-year-old filmmaker is reportedly interested in the remake of the classic comedy series since before the Peacock gave it a pilot order. If the deal is sealed, the "Superman Returns" helmer will serve as executive producer alongside Bryan Fuller who writes the reboot.

"Pushing Daisies" creator Fuller first proposed the "Munsters" remake in 2010, but NBC passed on the script. His new take on the 1960s series is said to be edgier and slightly darker than the original version. The upcoming show is also promised to present an "imaginative reinvention of 'The Munsters' as a visually spectacular one hour drama."

Singer's latest credits include his producing and writing gig for "X-Men: First Class". The 46-year-old filmmaker will next serve behind the lens for upcoming fantasy movie "Jack the Giant Killer".
