Michael Fassbender Weighs In on Possibility to Replace Daniel Craig as James Bond
Commenting on the rumors that he might play the flamboyant MI6 agent in the future, Fassbender says, 'I don't think too far into the future. It's one step at a time right now.'

Michael Fassbender has commented on the rumors suggesting that he might star as the new James Bond. In a recent interview with Total Film, the 34-year-old actor admitted that he doesn't have any plan to replace Daniel Craig in the 007 franchise. "I think Daniel is doing a great job and I don't think too far into the future. It's one step at a time right now," he insisted.

The German thespian, however, added that back then he had fantasized about portraying the flamboyant MI6 secret agent. He confessed, "Of course, every guy knows the feeling of walking round the house singing the song to himself, walking round corners with an imaginary gun." He went on teasing, "Let's see what happens."

After starring as Magneto in "X-Men: First Class", Fassbender is set to play in some high-profile movies. He will be seen portraying a sex addict in "Shame", which will be released in limited U.S. theaters on December 2. His other upcoming films include, "Haywire", "Prometheus" and "Twelve Years a Slave".

As for the latest James Bond movie "Skyfall", it is currently shooting in the U.K., and is scheduled to open wide in the U.S. on November 9, 2012. Craig reprises his role as Bond, while Judi Dench is back as M. Javier Bardem, meanwhile, is set to play the main villain.
