Kim Kardashian puts aside her marital woes for one charitable day. The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star, who is in the process of divorcing Kris Humphries, was photographed on Wednesday, November 23 as she served Thanksgiving meals to the homeless at the Los Angeles Mission.
The 31-year-old came to the event with lesser make-up and hair set in a simple fishtail braid. Wearing a simple white T-shirt and a pair of black pants, she covered her red Mission apron with a black and red lumberjack-style jacket. She was joined by other celebrity volunteers that included Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Blair Underwood.
Speaking of Kim's first visit to the Los Angeles Mission, a representative told Us Weekly that the former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant "was very cordial and friendly." The rep added that she "worked hard in both the food preparation area and in serving the food to the guests."
Kim herself has shared her thought over her experience on Twitter. "Just left the LA Mission. Met so many kind hearted people! They're goal is to feed 120,000 people by the end of the yr! We fed so many today," she wrote. She later tweeted, "Everyone of us can do something small that will make a huge difference to someone else."
The Wednesday event marked the Los Angeles Mission's 75th year of service to the community. It was hosted by actor Kirk Douglas and his wife Anne the seventh year in a row. During the event, "Avatar" actress Zoe took some time off to remind others on Twitter, "We could feed more if u log on to feedLANow.org & donate!"
