The estranged husband of Kim Kardashian has reportedly hired Lee Hutton, the same attorney who repped him when the couple's prenup was drawn up.
A little over a week after Kim Kardashian filed for divorce, Kris Humphries is being reported lawyering up. According to E! News, the former New Jersey Nets power forward has hired Minnesota-based Lee Hutton, who represents a number of pro athletes, as his divorce lawyer.
It is explained that Hutton has counseled Humphries in other matters over the years. Meanwhile, TMZ added that he is the same attorney that helped the 26-year-old NBA player when his prenup with the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star was negotiated.
Words are, Humphries and Kardashian's divorce should go smoothly because of their prenup. Despite earlier claims that Humphries refused to sign the divorce papers, E! News reported that the athlete won't make it difficult for them to end the 72 days of marriage. "He doesn't want a war. He's lying low," a source close to him has stated.
Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries on October 31. After the split news broke out, Humphries released a statement saying, "I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce. I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work."
