'Dark Blood', which may change its title due to copyright claims, will be re-edited and released next year using voice-over.

AceShowbiz - River Phoenix's last movie "Dark Blood" will finally be seen on theaters. Dutch director George Sluizer has announced that the 1993 drama that Phoenix was shooting when he died of a heart attack, will be finished for a release next year.
Phoenix died of an apparent drug overdose on Halloween night outside Viper Room in Los Angeles. Sluizer immediately took the original "Dark Blood" footage and kept it hidden, fearing that it would be destroyed. The material will now be re-edited, using voice-over which could be done by Phoenix's brother Joaquin Phoenix. "The voices of both brothers are very much alike," the director told THR.
In the film, Phoenix plays the character Boy, a hermit living in the desert on a nuclear testing site as he waits for the end of the world. When a Hollywood jet-set couple, played by Judy Davis and Jonathan Pryce, arrives to find shelter, he begins a troubled relationship with the wife.
In finishing the movie, Sluizer would be backed up by Eyeworks. The production house said that legal issues like the copyright claims may change the film's title.
