Mandy Moore has landed her first regular TV role. The singer-turned-actress is set to star on a single-camera comedy which was recently nabbed by ABC with a put pilot commitment after a competitive bidding with two other networks.
The family comedy explores the inherent conflict that exists between the families we grow up in and the families we make. The story will be told from the perspective of a young, newlywed couple, Annie (Moore's character) and Ben.
"Real Steel" helmer Shawn Levy is attached to direct the project, with Bob Fisher writing the script. The two are additionally set to team up with Moore, Bob Fisher, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements to serve as executive producers.
Moore has previously landed roles on several TV series such as "Entourage", "How I Met Your Mother" and "Grey's Anatomy". As for her big screen appearance, she recently lent her voice in animated movie "Tangled" and starred opposite Kellan Lutz in "Love, Wedding, Marriage".
