Two great people in their own field will join forces to bring "Under the Dome" to Showtime. Steven Spielberg and Stephen King are partnering with the network to turn the latter's novel into a new TV series, which will be produced by DreamWorks Television.

Published in 2009, the supernatural thriller revolves around locals at a Maine vacation spot which becomes trapped under a mysterious invisible force field. A corrupt local politician uses the crisis to seize power, while local people start battling one another.

Spielberg and Stacey Snider obtained the rights to the book soon after it was published to strong reviews. The filmmaker, who is serving as executive producer of "Terra Nova", will also executive produce the drama series along with King, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. They are currently looking for a screenwriter for the project.

Another King's novel "Bag of Bones" is also going to grace small screen through A&E. The book, which tells the story of a writer trying to recover from the death of his wife, is adapted into a mini series with Pierce Brosnan taking the lead role.

"Beverly Hills, 90210" alum Jason Priestley has recently been added to the cast line-up, joining William Schallert and Melissa George. The four-hour event will debut later this year.
