'Supernatural' Creator to Adapt 'Deadman' for The CW

Eric Kripke has been set to write and produce the project based on Arnold Drake and Carmine Infantino's books.

After the end of "Smallville", The CW plans to develop a TV adaptation of another superhero comic by bringing "Deadman" to the small screen. Reports says say that the network has tapped "Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke to write and executive produce the new drama show.

"Deadman" was created by Arnold Drake and Carmine Infantino and first appeard in DC Comics universe in 1967. The story revolves around Boston Brand, a circus acrobat who is murdered but continues to live on by inhabiting other people's bodies. He then finds himself torn between exacting revenge on the man who killed him and using his new ability to help others.

Details about the project are still scarce. Earlier this month, however, The CW president Mark Pedowitz revealed that the network is looking "to do a superhero show if the right superhero comes to be" next year.

Kripke has dropped his position as "Supernatural" showrunner at the end of season 5, but still serves as an executive producer for the drama series, which will return for the seventh season on September 23.
