Anderson Cooper lost his composure before the camera because of Gerard Depardieu. The host of "Anderson Cooper 360" couldn't contain his giggles and kept cracking up throughout a "RidicuList" segment about the "La Vie en Rose" actor's urinating incident in a CityJet flight from France to Ireland.
In the video, the 44-year-old journalist can be seen fighting back his giggles as he delivered pun-filled lines, such as Gerard "flies Incontinental", "created his own jet stream" and "is used to being Pampered." At one point, he even asked the production crew to stop laughing, reasoning "it's distracting."
Anderson, however, really lost it and began to laugh uncontrollably after saying, "All I can say, they should thank their lucky stars it wasn't Depar-two." As he tried to compose himself to finish the segment, he apologized and said in between his laugh, "This is actually never happened to me! You always see this sort of thing on YouTube and you don't think it can actually happen to you!"
Anderson has expressed his concern of finishing the segment without a hitch before the show. "I'm loving #TheRidiculist tonite. I giggle everytime I try to read through it. Hope I don't mess this up," he tweeted. Afterward, he wrote in reply to one of his followers, "Its embarrasing [sic], but glad you laughed." In another tweet, he wrote, "It's a goofy laugh, but I'm stuck with it."
Gerard had his embarrassing incident on Tuesday, August 16. It was reported that the French actor, who allegedly appeared intoxicated, pissed on the plane's carpet right in front of other passengers because he reportedly could not wait until the lavatory is available. He was heard saying in French, "I need to piss, I need to piss."
