The singer known for his single 'I Don't Want to Be' reportedly suffers facial cuts and broken nose after being assaulted by multiple people on Sunday night, August 7.

AceShowbiz - Gavin DeGraw has ended up in a hospital after a brutal attack on the streets of New York City. Bringing the news to public attention, TMZ reported that the singer, who is known for single "In Love with a Girl", was viciously assaulted by a group of people last Sunday night, August 7.

A representative for the 34-year-old singer told the gossip site that he is still under observation at Bellevue Hospital. The rep refused to dish on the singer's injuries, but RumorFix claimed that he suffered among others, facial cuts and a broken nose. Accordingly, New York Police Department confirmed that the assault happened on First Avenue between 5th and 6th streets.

Words are, Gavin was highly intoxicated at the time, and police learned about the assault after being informed by staff at Bellevue Hospital. No arrest has been made following the assault, but police are looking into the motive of the incident.

The singer, whose single "I Don't Want to Be" is featured as the theme song to The CW's "One Tree Hill", has been touring with Train and Maroon 5. He is scheduled to join them on Tuesday night, August 9 in Saratoga Springs, New York.
