AceShowbiz - Summit Entertainment has unveiled a fresh trailer of forthcoming PG-13-rated thriller "The Darkest Hour". Set against the background of Russia's capital city, the video presents some action-packed footage as a large amount of evil-spirited aliens begin to invade the city and destroy every living creature in seconds.

While military, police and scientists fail to overcome the spreading invasion, a group of youngsters attempt to find a way to defeat those aliens. However, it seems to be far from possible because those aliens, who have the ability to suck the energy of the earth, are apparently invisible. "They can see us, but we can't see them," so protagonist character Lukie, played by Emile Hirsch, said in fear.

Directed by Chris Gorak and produced by Timur Bekmambetov as well as Tom Jacobson, the alien invasion-themed movie is due to arrive in U.S. theaters on December 23. Joining Hirsch in the cast ensemble are Olivia Thirlby, Max Minghella, Rachael Taylor and Joel Kinnaman.
