Cage reprises his role as Johnny Blaze in 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance', while Elba is cast as French alcoholic monk called Moreau.
Empire Magazine has got its hand on some stills from "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance". Hitting the web in scanned version, one of them highlights Nicolas Cage's Johnny Blaze looking gritty in his dark ensemble.
Another picture, meanwhile, offers the first look at Idris Elba's character, Moreau, who is described as a French alcoholic monk. Blaze's alter ego, Ghost Rider, is also featured in the third image riding his flaming motorbike on a deserted land.
In this "Ghost Rider" sequel, Blaze is hiding out in remote Eastern Europe and struggling to repress his curse. He is recruited by a sect to take on the devil (Ciaran Hinds), who wants to take over his mortal son's body on the kid's birthday.
While the Ghost Rider was portrayed by stunt men in the first film, Cage plays the demon form as well in the follow-up project. Directed by "Crank" helmers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the upcoming action thriller film is set to open wide in U.S. cinemas on February 17, 2012.
