The dark shot sees the 'Star Trek' actor wearing Dredd's trademark helmet to portray the most feared judge in Mega City One.
A new picture that shows Karl Urban as Judge Dredd in an upcoming Pete Travis-directed superhero 3D movie, "Dredd", has been unleashed. The new picture shows the titular character in his trademark helmet, though it doesn't actually give a clear look at his face.
"Dredd" revolves around Judge Dredd who is the most feared judge among the elite Street Judges in Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. He has the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot if necessary.
The movie is also starring Olivia Thirlby as Judge Anderson, Lena Headey as Madeline Madrigal, Langley Kirkwood as Judge Lex and Francis Chouler as Judge Guthrie. The script is written by Alex Garland, who also serves as the producer along with Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich. This movie is expected to be released in the U.S. sometime in 2012.
