Arnold Schwarzenegger to Make Acting Return With 'The Last Stand'

It has been confirmed that the former governor of California has signed up to star in the Kim Ji-woon-directed movie after postponing his big screen comeback in May.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has put his acting return plan back on the track. After announcing a postponement to his Hollywood career following his infidelity confession that made the headlines, the 63-year-old actor is now ready to grace big screen through "The Last Stand". His spokesperson has confirmed that the deal was completed just a few days ago.

Schwarzenegger will take the role of an aging small-town border sheriff who must decide how much he wants to risk his life to protect his town from a Mexican drug cartel. The long-gestating project will mark the English-language debut of Korean director Kim Ji-woon. Production is scheduled to start in September for a possible 2012 release.

Previously, the former governor of California has been attached to "Cry Macho" and the fifth "Terminator" film. In May, however, he put discussions for all projects on hold to focus on personal matters. The estranged husband of Maria Shriver is still expected to star in those two movies after "The Last Stand".
