Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Rosario Dawson and many other Hollywood stars have found themselves being subjected to criticism for embracing the "planking" craze. Rapper Xzibit recently took to his Twitter and blasted the Internet fad in which people take pictures of themselves laying face down in bizarre places.
"Planking is THE dumbest s**t ever," the 36-year-old MC and TV host first tweeted on July 6. He followed it up with another tweet in which he claimed that planking stems from racist roots. "#Planking was a way to transport slaves on ships during the slave trade, its not funny," he wrote. "Educate yourselves."
Xzibit's tweet soon got mixed reactions from his Twitter followers. One wrote, "Didn't know this. Now I wont even look at the pics anymore. I thought it was just started in Australia & England as a dumb game," while another tweeted, "Dude!When in Black History class was chaining slaves to a board called #planking?When did they stop calling it 'packing'?I'll wait.."
Later in the same day, the "Gridiron Gang" actor posted another tweet regarding the matter. Clarifying his earlier statements, he wrote, "Dont get it twisted. I care less where your dumb a**es lay face down and take pictures of the s**t, I'm just telling you where it came from."
Justin has posted a photo of himself planking in a yacht on Twitter. Along with it, he wrote, "Me and @Diggy_Simmons #plankin #schwag." Also sharing a photo of herself laying face down in a yacht was Katy. Meanwhile, Rosario did the planking on Jimmy Kimmel's set desk during an interview. Other stars embracing the fad included Chris Brown, Kristen Bell and Ellen Page.

If you look @ the pictures of what is being called planking in reference to the slave trade, you will notice all of the people are laying on their backs. It was called "packing", not "planking", Xhibit needs to educate HIMSELF.
