The 'Backwoods Barbie' singer spreads the smile and joy to people around her with the uplifting song taken from her forthcoming album 'Better Day'.
Dolly Parton has just debuted a music video for her new single "Together You and I". The 65-year-old country pop vet who is known for her glitzy outfit is singing the uplifting lyrics of the song on a bridge while people around her are holding hands and sharing smile with each other.
"I wanted to do something uplifting so even in the losing songs, I'm saying you're going to pick up the pieces," Dolly said in an interview with Billboard. "It seemed that with everything being so doomsday-terrorists and bad weather and unemployment-we need a little sunshine."
"You and I" serves as the lead single from her upcoming studio album "Better Day" which will be released under her own recording company. "It just made sense when we started," she gushed. "No real big label was interested in me as a recording artist and I didn't think of myself as a has-been. I couldn't get a decent contract with a label that would present me as an artist and not as a personality."
