Moss and Jamie Hince wed in a Cotswolds village church on Friday, June 24 afternoon, before retreating to the model's GBP2 million mansion for three-day celebration.
Kate Moss may be having the biggest day of her life but she has made some people angry with it. The supermodel married rocker Jamie Hince in Cotswolds village of Southrop, hiring police officers to block the roads to St Peter's parish church and the supermodel's property where the party was held.
Some locals who are used to quiet and smooth traffic were disgruntled when they had to make turns to reach their destination. "Why can't she have got married somewhere else? I only live up behind that big tree and I can't imagine ever actually getting there. And I'm sick of being told what to do by all these men," said Judy Millard as quoted by Guardian.
Another local who refused to be named said, "It's disgraceful. All this fuss for a model. We hardly ever see a copper down here and today you can't move for them. All for a celebrity and a rock star. Shouldn't these police be out catching criminals rather than standing around in the sun and chatting to journalists?"
A document from Gloucestershire county council, which Daily Mail acquired, reveals that the main road through the small town was blocked for almost 700 meters, with police redirecting traffic. "The council is satisfied the use of the road and public paths should be prohibited for the purpose of facilitating the holding of a relevant event, namely to reduce the disruption to traffic as a result of a private family celebration," the notice said.
Moss' nuptials was attended by her celebrity friends such as Naomi Campbell, Anna Wintour, Jude Law, Jade Jagger and Bobby Gillespie. Some of them stayed at Swan Inn and would remain in the village throughout the weekend for the celebrations.
Moss has hired The Dorchester and Ritz Paris hotels to cater the parties and reportedly asked friends Iggy Pop, Snoop Dogg, Beth Ditto and Carl Barat to provide the entertainment. The couple spent around GBP500,000 for the three-day fiesta which is dubbed "Moss-stock".
The bride herself was wearing a wedding gown full of rhinestones from John Galliano. Christian Louboutin designed a special pair of wedding shoes that include a blue insole as Kate's "something blue". She wore loose waves and vintage veil, ditching her signature cat-eye make-up for more natural look.
Her daughter Lila from previous marriage was present as one of the flower girls along with pal Sadie Frost's daughter. Hince gave the honor of "best woman" to The Kills bandmate Allison Mosshart.
