Universal has added another actor to "Snow White and the Huntsman" cast ensemble. Ian McShane, who stars as Blackbeard in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", has been cast to play one of the eight dwarfs.
Heat Vision has the scoop, saying that McShane will portray Caesar, the leader of the dwarfs. While the deal is yet to be finalized, Universal Pictures still needs to tap some more actors to play the other dwarfs: Nero, Tiberius, Hadrian, Trajan, Constantine, Claudius and Gus.
Apparently, McShane will reunite with his "Pirates" co-star in this Rupert Sanders-helmed flick. Earlier in May, Sam Claflin, the Philip Swift in "Pirates of the Caribbean" latest installment, was reportedly chosen to take the role of Prince Charming.
"Snow White and the Huntsman" is a fantasy film which is inspired by a Grimm fairy tale. It tells a story about the huntsman who becomes her protector and a mentor of sorts as they try to escape from the evil queen who ordered her death. The movie is scheduled to grace U.S. theaters on June 1, 2012. Kristen Stewart takes the lead female role, while Chris Hemsworth portrays the huntsman.
An English actor, McShane rose to fame through his television role on "Lovejoy". He also lent his voice for Ragnar Sturlusson in "The Golden Compass" and Tai Lung in "Kung Fu Panda". The 68-year-old actor is currently filming "Jack the Giant Killer".
